Public groups
Most VeritMeet groups spread among people who already know each other. This directory does exactly one thing: find groups that are willing to be found, by name or server ID prefix.
How it works
- Public only: a group appears here only when its owner has made it public (
public = true). - Active in the last 24 hours: servers report to the registry continuously; records without a heartbeat for 24 hours are no longer listed.
- Prefix match:
devmatchesdev-server;serverdoes not. - What it does not do: no recommendations, no ranking, no popularity, no member counts, no feed. The directory does not decide what you should join.
After you find a group
The directory only makes groups visible; it does not join you to them. Ask the owner for an invite link, or join with the server ID in the app.
Nothing found? Try a shorter prefix, or check that the group is still public and has reported within the last 24 hours.
For self-hosters
To be listed, keep register = true and public = true (the defaults) and make sure public_endpoint is reachable from the internet. To opt out, turn off public or register.
